La Musicca von Scene / Sonata to the Edinburgh Fringe
Turkish-Norwegian theatre-maker Guliz Portakaloglu
travels from Bergen, Norway to the Edinburgh Festival
Fringe with her new solo theatre performance La Musicca
von Scene / Sonata.
The performance follows a former actress who creates a
theatre play through improvisation, using objects found on
stage to reflect on love, home and music, as emotions
awaken through sounds and theatrical remnants. A warm
solo performance celebrating love for theatre and the
performing arts.
Written and performed by Portakaloglu, the piece explores
memory, imagination and the emotional traces left behind in
theatrical spaces. The work is developed through Thor
Theatre, an independent theatre company based in Bergen.
Portakaloglu studied acting and theatre in Istanbul and has
continued her artistic practice in Norway through original
performances, interdisciplinary collaborations and solo theatre works.
